Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. Translation: мужчины с Марса, женщины с Венеры. Example: My mother and father never agreed about anything, but then, men are from Mars and women are from Venus. = Моя мать и отец никогда ни в чем не соглашались, известно ведь, что мужчины с Марса, а женщины с Венеры. It achieved proverbial status after appearing as the title of the 1993 book “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: A Practical Guide for Improving Communication and Getting What You Want in Your Relationships” by John Gray (American author).

Men make houses, women make homes. Translation: мужчина строит дом, а женщина делает его родным очагом. Example: His apartment is very tastefully furnished, but it’s a bit austere and unwelcoming - as they say, “Men make houses, women make homes.” = Его квартира со вкусом обставлена, но она немного аскетичная и негостеприимная, но как говорится: «Мужчина строит дом, а женщина делает его родным очагом». Variant of this proverb: men build houses, women build homes.

Gender gap Translation: гендерный разрыв. Example: There is still an enormous gender gap in the wages of unskilled labor. = По-прежнему существует огромный гендерный разрыв в заработной плате работников неквалифицированного труда
